This article will lead you to some resources on the Internet on where to find help for students or yourself, in regard to acquiring private lessons in voice, guitar and piano. You will also find great resources for learning to read music via software. You could be your own private music teacher. :-)

First site up is <a href="http://www.musicstaff.com">MusicStaff.com</a>. Here is a place to visit with other private teachers, share teaching techniques, discuss hot issues, find out about the best insurance for your professional needs and how to run a private studio and lots more. And it's all free!

Lesson ideas are offered in the <a href="http://www.musicstaff.com/lounge/ideas.asp">Teacher's Lounge area</a>. There is a survey in the lounge, where you can let the owner of the site know what your Internet resource "Wish List" is. Just think! You can submit a request and this site will do the research for you.

Another great feature of this site is that it allows parents, students and teachers to search for a private music teacher nearest you by typing in your zip code.

Second site has been established longer on the Internet and offers some great info on private teaching as well.

This free service enables easy connection between the public and individual musicians. You can find a private music teacher in your local area, hire musicians who play concerts or wedding and corporate receptions. Be sure and check this site out.

The <a href="http://www.suite101.com/external_link.cfm?elink=http://www.essentialguitar.com/">Essential Guitar Guide</a> offers practical music theory for guitar players. This site offers a very cool Java Pop-Up window called the <a href="http://www.essentialguitar.com/news.htm">Guitar Chord Calculator</A>. Just put in the note what you want as the root and the Chord Calculator will tell you what the other notes in the chord are. Pretty cool, huh? They also have a section on private lessons that is worth checking out. He also has some articles on a Buyers Guide for Beginners, Essential Listening for Guitarists and on handling Your First Gig.

<a href="http://members.aol.com/kenbrowgtr/mybio.html">Ken Brown's Guitar Site</a> has lots of links to software, various guitar greats, other guitar sites and music theory. He has a passion for Jazz, too. His private lesson information is available and he says that, "His aim is to provide a progressive course of guitar instruction. He provides his students with a great diversity of materials and opportunities according to their individual requirements."

<a href="http://www.saiedmusic.com/Lessons.htm">Keyboard Encounters</a> has some great info on private lessons for piano AND guitar. The site boasts by saying that, "Keyboard Encounters is an innovative course of piano-style instruction where tradition and technology meet in harmony." You'll play simple pieces from the first day!
